Hello Parchers … and welcome to the January/February edition of your favourite parchment craft magazine! With Christmas all packed away for another year, it’s time to stay in the warm, get cosy and keep crafting! This issue we look at the beauty winter can bring, including flowers in the patterns provided by Pat Murphy on page 6 and Kay James on page 14. GREAT FOR BEGINNERS Blooming lovely A design for all occasions, this is a very adaptable pattern. Designed by Patricia Murphy You will need Your basic tool kit plus: Trace Outline the large flower in white. Outline the small buds and flower centres with violet. Use Tinta green ink on the leaves. The small flowers are painted directly onto the parchment, so no tracing for these. Paint Paint the leaves in green ink. Once dry, apply a second layer with violet which creates some shading. You might want to try this first on a scrap piece of parchment and water down a little bit if you feel necessary. Paint the large flower centres with a yellow felt tip. Paint the…

WORKSHOP Beaded butterfly Just like the project on page 8, this project uses invisible thread to attach beads to your parchment project . If you want to make this pattern without the beads, just use the invisible thread through the grid sect ions of the pattern. TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP Using invisible thread Using invisible thread is a great way to secure your finished project to backing card, plus you can also add beads with this method.
