Last year, I was introduced to wedding dress designer Hayley Paige by a mutual friend who, like me, gravitates to friendships with strong women. Café Landwer debuted in Berlin in 1919 before relocating to Tel Aviv in the 1930s. In the decades since, Landwer has expanded to more than 80 locations in Israel and North America. Feliz Green knows the value of a positive attitude. As the head pastry chef of Lingonberry, Green infuses not only her Filipino heritage and years of culinary experience into the food she makes, but her sunny disposition too. “You can’t be sad and making something,” she says. Neil Berger notes that he was very active as a young man—playing sports, regularly visiting the gym, and always on the go. But after his priorities shifted toward marriage and fatherhood, he found he had little time for himself and began sliding into unhealthy habits. This, coupled with a demanding desk job and reconstructive surgery on his back and knees that left him in chronic pain, resulted in him feeling awful in both body and mind.
