Palm Beach County just gained a heavy hitter. On February 28, The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches opened with an inaugural game between its two spring training teams, the Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals. The new facility occupies 160 acres off 45th Street in West Palm Beach, with the Astros’ turf to the north and the Nationals’ domain to the south. Each team has all the amenities needed to prep for the regular season, including six practice fields apiece and batting cages. There are nearly two dozen small distillers operating in Florida, and their growth is spurred in part by consumer demand for local products.
