The latest in Sony’s popular, tech-leading a7 series full-frame mirrorless cameras is the a7 III. It features a new 24.2-megapixel back-illuminated sensor, which Sony states provides 15 stops of dynamic range, comparable to the a7R III introduced last fall. It also shares the same capture rate as the a7R III, with continuous shooting up to 10 fps with either the electronic or mechanical shutter. Comparing ISO ranges, the a7 III actually beats the a7R III, with a standard range of 100-51,200, expandable to 50-204,800, while the a7R III’s standard range is 100-32,000, expandable to 50-102,400.
