A famous poem by the late Chairman Mao, widely regarded as the ‘father of modern China,’ served as inspiration for two paintings by renowned artists Fu Baoshi and Li Keran. They depict the crimson-hued mountains of Changsha and the grand riverbanks of the Xiang River. Interior designer HL Lim was similarly inspired by these artworks for the interior design concept of the Grand Hyatt Changsha. This resulted in a contemporary yet timeless Chinese aesthetic. Shades of the symbolic red colour were used to give deference to the artists’ work and a significant sense of place. Born from the partnership between Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department and its Product Strategy Committee, this is the first Ferretti Yachts creation with an exterior designed in collaboration with architect Filippo Salvetti. The interiors, instead, were crafted by the Group’s own architects and designers. As part of an innovative evolution process, Ferretti Yachts 670 combines characteristics of the models launched in 2016 and 2017 with some significant new features. These include an optimisation of interior and exterior spaces, offering owners and their guests a well-balanced blend of communality and independence. Rene Gonzalez has emerged as one of Miami’s most influential young architects and is known for the modernist rigour and simplicity of his work but also his imaginative use of materials according to Raul A Barreneche from The New York Times. Founded in 1997 in Miami, Florida, the design firm believes that a building is inexorably linked to the cultural and natural environment beyond its physical boundaries. The Royal Palace of Belgrade, Serbia, was built between 1924 and 1929 with private funds of His Majesty King Aleksandar I, the first monarch of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and the grandfather of HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II). Due to the sensitivity of both the position (within 700m from Roman ruins, and 10km from Assisi) and the age of the structure, the approval and planning commission process lasted nearly three years with understandably firm and curated conditions applied by the authorities in executing the proposal. Additions were allowed, albeit, the bare minimum. This offered the opportunity to create a light and open connection between the two existing buildings, which would encapsulate a portion of the new kitchen leading out to the addition of a lanai and an all-round rim flow swimming pool.
