Here’s proof that old Land Cruisers never die, or even fade away. The most popular vehicle searched for on the auction site Trade Me last year was this 2004 Land Cruiser with the spacious but hardly plush station-wagon back. So far, so unremarkable.
But this one is special – it has spent nearly two decades at New Zealand’s Antarctic research facility, Scott Base, where it was used as an exploration vehicle and for transporting people and cargo across ice shelves.
Now it has come back to New Zealand almost two decades later and after attracting more than 112,000 views it sold (as-is) for an impressive $40,200.
