It is the biggest show of its type anywhere, and it is pushing back against the rash of Covid-driven cancellations. As always, the SEMA show in America highlights the best – and strangest – of the aftermarket tuning world, and as always it caters to the 4WD and off-road set. Frustratingly, almost all of us are stuck here in Fortress New Zealand, waiting to be allowed out of Covid Jail.
There were few Kiwi accents echoing through the show’s massive display halls, few Kiwis eyeing the wares on display from component makers including Weiand Power & Racing (manifolds and stuff), Cragar Industries (wheels), B&M Automotive Products (shifters and other gear for transmissions), and Weber Speed Equipment (beefy clutches, auto transmissions and more).
