I enjoy driving. Anywhere. Like the Trade Me man says “When there’s petrol in the tank there’s hope,” or words to that effect.
Town driving in a rush hour is not much fun, though exploring a better route can be entertaining. So long as you can crack a grin whilst stopped at the one busy intersection that wasn’t your smartest move! Better luck next time.
Elsewhere, though, driving is generally enjoyable. Highways, byways, motorways, shingleways, grassways, forestways, hillways. Views, spectacles, weather. Surprises, sunrises, animals, rivers. Curves, rocks, clouds, lakes, forests, ghost towns, mines, bridges, fords, boat ramps. Challenges, thrills, cruisy tranquillity. A ‘driver’s road’ or fave off-road trip.
So I find it hard to understand why anyone would want a driverless ‘autonomous’ vehicle? I can understand the possibilities for impaired…
