I LINGERED LONGER THAN USUAL in John 14 during my Bible study this week. It’s a familiar passage, but when my heart is open, I notice nuances more precious than the tiny raindrops clinging to the tips of pine needles after a storm.
Jesus told His disciples, “You know the way to the place where I am going” (verse 4, NIV). Thomas—naturally—doubted and shot back, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” (verse 5, NIV). Oh, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas.
