As you’ve seen, Shortcuts is a versatile tool which Apple has supported over the years. The launch of iOS 17 introduced an Open Camera action, for instance, which lets you create a shortcut that opens the Camera app into a specific capture mode. Set it to Selfie, Portrait, Portrait Selfie, Photo, Cinematic, Slo–Mo, Time–Lapse, Pano or Video and you’ll be ready to grab that perfect shot or take rolling footage in seconds.
With iOS 17.4, a new Get Physical Activity action was also added, letting you make shortcuts which determine your current activity whether that’s running, cycling, walking or driving.
