I had long dreamed of having my own sewing room. For years, I sewed at our kitchen peninsula while my fabric stash and tools were all stored in a tiny, cramped basement room surrounded by clutter and Christmas decs. TERMINOLOGY: In our feature we use the following terms Bias: The bias is at a 45-degree angle to the weave of the fabric. The bias can be found by using a quilt ruler to draw a line that is at a 45-degree angle to the selvedge. Bloom: This is the term used to make the fabric fluff up into the chenille texture.
