I think of summer holiday colours as easy and fun. Nothing complicated or overdone, just nice and simple. Colours you can take to the beach and then out to dinner, so to speak. Flower Power Summer and florals go hand-in-hand for me. How pretty would a floral quilt be in with these colours? I can already picture a flower sampler quilt with the happy yellows and oranges set against the dark and light blues. I’ll take hand-sewing over machine piecing any day of the week. Granted, it’s a much slower pace and there is some satisfaction to be had when you’re chain-piecing up a storm, but I love having a portable project to dip into on my travels.
