Dining beneath this magnificence – tucked into a corner in Italian restaurant San Carlo, Liverpool – would imbue any meal with a sense of magic and occasion. ‘We commissioned artist Jessalyn Brooks to create a strong, colourful, abstract piece that expressed movement and life with her signature figurative forms,’ the space’s designer Andy Goodwin, co-founder of London and LA-based interiors firm Fettle, tells me. ‘We wanted the space to feel light, fresh and playful.’
