THE FIRST LINE WITH 13 STATIONS OPENED IN DECEMBER 2024 IN THESSALONIKI. EXCAVATIONS HAD TO GO AS DEEP AS 25 METERS BELOW GROUND, REQUIRING ADDITIONAL SUB-LEVELS TO REACH THE PLATFORMS. Colorful variations on a theme emerge in all the sub-levels of metro stations, as the engineering of such transportation architecture creates repetitive shapes and patterns. Utility, safety, and mechanical necessities are visible and integrated into the design. Playful, energetic, and vibrant colors decorate these subterranean public spaces, which commuters usually experience in a fast-paced transit mode.
