AFrica. A single word, which, for many people, is laden with images of mystery, danger and suffering. To visit the continent is to embrace adventure and uncertainty. To attempt to cross it in an old Porsche is, frankly, tempting fate.
But that was exactly the fate I chose for my long-suffering 944. With over 320 000 kilometres on the clock, its days as my daily transport were clearly numbered; but it didn’t seem right to simply sell it.
