ROSSI TO RACE IN AUSTRALIA AGAIN

While Aussie fans missed out on Valentino Rossi’s “Farewell Tour” in 2021 due to the Australian MotoGP round being cancelled, there will soon be a chance for locals to see ‘The Doctor’ on a racetrack again, but it’ll be in a very different form to what they’re used to. In December, it was confirmed that Rossi had entered the 2023 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour sportscar race, which will be held at Mount Panorama on 3 – 5 February. LUKE POWER SECURES WORLD SUPERSPORT RIDE

After serving an apprenticeship in the Victorian Road Racing Championship, the Australian Superbike Championship’s Supersport 300 and Supersport classes, then a solid season in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship in the USA, Australia’s Luke Power will make his international racing debut in this year’s FIM Supersport World Championship. The 17-year-old from Victoria signed with Motozoo Racing by Puccetti in late November and will race a Kawasaki ZX-6R for the Italian team at all European rounds of this year’s World Supersport championship. BEST TIME TO TRAVEL: Between May and September. Our tour guides mischievously spoke about expecting summer towards the end of August, which would last seven days, but these would not be seven consecutive days! For the HAR in July, we had temperatures into the 5 – 10°C range in cold, wet weather. When it was clear or sunny, temperatures sometimes rose to almost 20°C. BMW Motorrad are marking 100 years since the debut of the first motorcycle to wear a BMW badge – the R 32 - with the release of two limited-edition bikes, both of which come with special finishes and several optional extras as standard. The R 32 that kicked off BMW’s motorcycle journey was officially unveiled in September, 1923, and carried features still found on many BMW bikes today; namely a four-stroke Boxer twin engine and shaft final drive. ROYAL ENFIELD HUNTER 350 ARRIVES

Following its global media launch in Thailand last August, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 started arriving at Australian dealerships in December, with a New Zealand release expected soon. This all-new addition to the Royal Enfield range is LAMS legal and shares its engine and several mechanical components with the Classic 350 and Meteor 350, but is lighter, with revised geometry and modern styling. NEW COLOURS FOR PEUGEOT DJANGO 50

Peugeot Motocycles has added three new colour options to the 50cc version of their neo-retro Django scooter, bringing the available palette to four. Joining the existing Dragon Red and Milky White two-tone combination are Pearl White, Signature Black and Racing Green. OLI BAYLISS SWITCHES TEAMS FOR 2023 WORLD SUPERSPORT SEASON

After past tours in Norway and South Africa, the third edition of Honda’s “Adventure Roads” series went to Iceland, where participants spent eleven days riding the latest CRF1100 Africa Twin in the land of fire, ice and water.
