Peter Fonda, the star of iconic motorcycle film Easy Rider, has died. Fonda passed away on 16 August from lung cancer, aged 79.
While not a part of the motorcycle industry, nor motorcycle racing, Fonda was undeniably a major figure in motorcycle culture, thanks to Easy Rider, which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of its release this year.
The son of legendary actor Henry Fonda and younger brother to Jane Fonda, Peter Fonda was born in New York on 23 February, 1940, and started his acting career while still a teenager, progressing through theatre and TV before landing his first film role in 1963.
