Rosé was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne as a child. When she was 16, Rosé’s father heard that one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea, YG Entertainment, was holding an open audition in Sydney, so he told Rosé that she should give it a try. “I didn’t think I could participate in any type of audition,” said the singer. “I was like: ‘Oh my gosh’ - I thought I had no chance.” Nevertheless, they flew to Sydney to audition, and as it turns out, sometimes parents really do know best!
