At the Edge of the Worlds ( Le Bord des Mondes )
Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 17 May
Curated by Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, Le Bord des Mondes answers Marcel Duchamp’s question: “Can one make works of art which are not ‘of art’?” The exhibition welcomes creatives from fields as diverse as poetry and piracy, each responding to the invitation to defy limits with unique and often amusing insight. Theo Jansen’s giant beach creatures and Kenji Kawakami’s Butter Stick, for example, or Carlos Espinosa’s poetical cloud traps, where the artwork aims to bridge the gap between known and imagined. Also included are Rose-Lynn Fisher, Game of States, Hiroshi Ishiguro, Jean Katambayi, Jesse Krimes, Charlie Le Mindu, ‘Le Prince Noir’, Bridget Polk, Sapeurs and Tomás Saraceno.
