In four decades, what began as the Koneru Lakshmaiah (KL) College of Engineering in 1980 has transformed into the KL Education Foundation (deemed to be university) or KLU, with a lush green 100-acre campus at Vaddeswaram, Guntur, on the outskirts of Vijayawada and two others at Moinabad and Bachupally in Hyderabad. It caters to 10,000 students through 10 colleges. In addition, there is a centre for distance and online education. KLU has changed the landscape of education in Vijayawada and the Telugu states.
