Balance your plate
Ensure that 50% of your food intake is based on fresh vegetables. A quarter of your plate should be made up of protein. Found in eggs, nuts, seeds, meat, fish, beans and lentils, it’s important for maintaining muscle, controlling weight and tissue repair. The remaining quarter should be complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato and wholegrains. Finish off with some healthy fats: avocado, olive oil and fish oil.
