It’s genuinely hard to say which of our projects claims the mantle of “first house.” Our practice began, as many do, with an array of smaller commissions: a single bathroom, a garden balustrade, carports; house-adjacent warm-up exercises demonstrating the care we intended to lend future endeavours, but nothing quite substantial enough to garner the title of “house.”
Nevertheless, in our first year of practice, we were lucky enough to be commissioned for two apartment fitouts and seven residential extensions. Of these, The Kite remains one of our favourites, with relevance to the architecture we continue to make today.
