A HOME-BRED three-year-old took the supreme in-hand title against a quality field of future champions.
Claire Lambert's Contendro-sired Halcyon Beetle Bug (Beetle), also champion at Otley earlier this year, was handled by Lizzie Richmond, who previously led Halcyon Graf, now eventing with Evie Gaskell, to the male championship at Bramham.
“I've only had Beetle for about eight weeks,” explained Lizzie, whose father, Peter Richmond, has produced several Bramham victors over the years. “He's a magnificent horse and we all think a lot of him. He'll go on to event, which is Claire's aim for all of her home-breds.”
Lizzie also showed Karen Birbeck's Classic Opera three-year-old Something Special KB to win her class.
