“When I took my daughter to try her, her saddle was slipping all over the place, so we tried her bareback,” says Katie. “She was everything we dreamed she could be, so we bought her.
“Being a cob, she has a deep neck, big shoulders, a deep girth and a fairly short back. Finding a saddle to fit was tricky. She came with a saddle that I returned as the fit wasn’t good. My saddler, Karen Jones, fitted a Wintec, but it was a bit big for my daughter. Eventually, we fitted an old Bates pony dressage saddle, which has been great.
