A green dream When Johan Else spent a few weeks with his daughter Francéne Bekker in Durbanville during lockdown in 2020, this retired architect decided to design and build a beautiful display rack for her beloved succulents. With limited access to shops for new building supplies, Johan had to make do with what was available at home. Lighten up Deon Meyer of Brackenfell writes I’m busy renovating my bathrooms and because I live in a semi-detached house, one of them doesn’t have any windows. There used to be a skylight but I removed it after it started leaking. It’s important that they’re protected from the sun’s harsh rays; what kind of paint should I use?
