In a show of support for all refugees and asylum-seekers arriving in the UK, the Prince of Wales said the country was “lucky to have you” as he visited the Refugee Response programme at St Luke’s Church in Earl’s Court, London.
Giving a heartfelt address to people forced to flee from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and Iran, he added: “I cannot even begin to imagine the dreadful conditions, the suffering, the agony you have all had to endure on your way to arrive here in this country.
“The fact that there are people here to help you learn English, to find your way through the inevitable difficulties that there are, is, I hope, something that will make a difference to your lives.”
