Safely back on shore, the former Olympic swimmer embraced her husband Prince Albert and their five-year-old twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, who had cheered her on.
Joining her at the finishing line was her brother Gareth Wittstock, who had also taken part in The Crossing, in which two relay teams of four athletes raced across the Mediterranean from Calvi, Corsica to Monaco’s Yacht Club in under 24 hours.
