An inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof was opened and adjourned last week, with Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham of Kent Police telling the hearing that: “Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death”. MAX CLIFFORD Eight years for indecent assault Celebrity publicist Max Clifford was last week sentenced to eight years in prison following his conviction on eight counts of indecent assault. The 71-year old PR guru – the first person convicted under Operation Yewtree, the investigation set up in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal – was found not guilty of two other charges. The offences, which took place between 1977 and 1985, were “not trivial but of a very serious nature”, said Judge Anthony Leonard at London’s Southwark Crown Court.
