Jamie Spencer-Churchill, the new and 12th Duke of Marlborough, led the mourners at the funeral last week of his father, John Spencer-Churchill, the 11th Duke, who died recently at the age of 88.
The 58-year-old former Marquess of Blandford walked arm-in-arm with his distraught stepmother, the Duke’s fourth wife, Lily Mahtani (far left), and other members of his family behind the horse-drawn carriage carrying the coffin from the family seat, Blenheim Palace, to St Mary Magdalene church in Woodstock. Uniformed staff lined the route in a scene that could have come straight out of Downton Abbey.
