One of the brightest lights in showbusiness went out last week when beloved singer and TV presenter Cilla Black died at her home in Spain, aged 72.
Over five decades, the Liverpool docker’s daughter, loved for her warmth, charm and wit, became one of Britain’s most successful performers, as well as undisputed queen of Saturday night TV.
Just 24 hours before she died, Cilla – who lost her beloved husband and manager Bobby to cancer in 1999 – had flown to her Spanish villa in Estepona, near Marbella, to attend a party with her eldest son, Robert, 45.
