If the roster boasts more than 20 designers, you know it’s time for fashion’s favourite playground, the capital, to Lakmē Fashion Week. This year, LFW celebrated its silver jubilee—25 years of giving golden opportunities to cohorts of homegrown designers. This year was no different—the backstage hassle, the front row fuss, and the endless days of playing dress-up—except, the spotlight went beyond the usual headliners. Guided by purpose over pomp, these seven designers drove me into the direction of wearable, edgy, and statement fits, a direction I don’t see myself straying from anytime soon. From denims having a moment, waste turning into wonders, to artistic visions, this edition went beyond spectacle.
