My personal style is what I’d call ‘classy-chic’—a lot of white tops and denim staples, with a few statement pieces thrown in the midst. Guy Hershberg: So here we are at home, like every day, having an interview. I want to start by asking you, what’s home for you? Kalki Koechlin: Home? Oh God, we had a fight about this the other day! Home is you, of course! I guess home is a sense of belonging and that can change as you grow older. Different things make you feel that you belong to a physical place, or mental state, or to a person. It can really develop as you go along. The lockdown inspired designers Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar to turn to their own archives for their next collection. The result is an upcycled range in black and white—with t-shirt sleeves cut into hearts and inlaid on fresh shirts, and patchwork and handmade drawings adorning pieces. “The pause, felt so deeply during the lockdown, gave us an opportunity to reflect back to more innocent times and celebrate the child in all of us. We have infused the material with a new lease of life, in the hope to reduce the environmental impacts of both production and consumption,” they share with Bazaar.
