Transforming a city-fringe apartment with deft spatial interventions and a Mediterranean palette, Maddison is a home awash with gentle tones, creative curves, unexpected sculptural interventions, and an overriding sense of calm. Home to Studio Johnston’s head of interiors and project director, Stefania Reynolds, her husband, and their two young children, the project presented the perfect moment to really consider how they wanted to live in their home. Having spent COVID bundled together, new questions around what was important arose, such as where they are likely to gather and conversely, where they are happiest alone. It also made it clear that a home office, that was both connected and separate, was essential.
