At the time of this writing, there are 113 co-sponsors for the U.S. House of Representatives bill H.R.367 introduced by Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C.-3, on Jan. 9, 2017, and 13 co-sponsors for the U.S. Senate bill S.59 introduced by Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, on the same day. The HPA was developed by the American Suppressor Association (ASA), the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the office of Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz.-5.
