ONE OF NORTH America’s biggest rock radio hits from 1981, this cool and hauntingly intriguing song, written by Canadian singer-songwriter Tom Cochrane, features a slick arrangement and production that includes layered guitar parts, along with bass, drums, keyboard synthesizers, lead and background vocals and soaring slide licks that were performed by Ken Greer on an overdriven pedal or lap steel.
We’ve adapted the arrangement’s keyboard and steel parts for electric guitars and bass. Ideally, you’d have a keyboard synth player cover the ambient, mysterious intro.
