As our flagship Top 100, the Great Britain & Ireland ranking is comfortably the most difficult to assess, measure and, in turn, get right. The standard is exceptionally high and, to a certain extent, the differences between many of the top 20 in the list are subtle, often intangible and of course highly subjective. You could quite easily take the top 10 in this list, randomly shuffle the order and, most likely, nobody would bat an eyelid. While we created our five-point assessment criteria several years ago to better highlight our judging process, gut feeling still plays a role in this ranking.
