When Cynthia Dye’s West Cliffs wonder opened to widespread acclaim on Portugal’s Silver Coast an hour north-west of Lisbon in 2017, it further augmented the growing golfing reputation of the area in and around the country’s capital. But West Cliffs is far from the first golfing treasure in the region, with sister course Praia D’El Rey, which opened in 1997, a longstanding fixture in Portugal’s top ten.
