Some fantastic top-level golf has kept us fans enthralled over the past two months. In July, Francesco Molinari produced a nerveless display to claim the Claret Jug at Carnoustie. Three weeks later, the impressive Brooks Koepka found a different gear at the USPGA to push on past a stellar chasing pack led by a revitalised Tiger, while at the US Amateur, Norway's Viktor Hovland blew away the challengers at Pebble Beach.
All scintillating stuff, but for me, the Ricoh Women's British Open at Royal Lytham eclipsed them all, with Georgia Hall delivering an absolutely sensational performance to become the first female British Major winner since Catriona Matthew, also at Lytham, in 2009. As first professional wins go, it was something special. A bright future awaits, and I hope Georgia's victory…
