Ford South Africa was established in 1923, and 41 years later, Henry Ford's son, also named Henry, inaugurated the Struandale Engine Plant. Now in its 59th year, Struandale has announced the production of four million engines. Engine number 4 000 000 is a 2.0 Bi-Turbo which will be sent to Ford's Silverton assembly plant outside Pretoria to be installed in a Ranger.
“The Struandale Engine Plant has been instrumental in Ford's development and growth over the past 59 years, particularly for our export operations.
