Plants, I love them. In fact, some might say I’m obsessed. I know the names of all the trees, shrubs, climbers, and flowers in my garden, and even the wild grasses within my mini-meadows!
However, I knew almost nothing about, and gave almost no thought to, a whole group of plants, some of which are found in gardens everywhere – mosses.
They seem like the forgotten, unloved plants of the garden world. You can’t buy moss ‘seeds’ and you won’t find them in garden centres (or if you do, it will only be because they’re growing accidentally around the plants you want to buy).
