September may be meterological autumn, but here in GATowers we’re embracing summer for as long as we can. September is often a beautiful, settled month, with plenty of mild weather and bright colour in the garden. The soil has been warmed by months of sunshine, and the air seems to glow with shimmering spiders’ webs strung between the swaying stems of tall plants that have reached their full potential. Maybe it’s the low September sun, which instead of bearing down on the garden from above, now lights it more flatteringly from the side, giving plants a new perspective.
