With that,Ford entered four-wheeling, where buyerslooked for nimble size, durability, capability,and power. The Bronco brought lots of newtechnology to the table in the form of radiusarm and coil-sprung front suspension (ascompared to all of the other competitor’s leafsprings), simple body work, flat glass and arigid boxed ladder frame. The Bronco madean impression early on with its torquey I-6and lightweight, yet powerful, optional 289ciand later 302ci V-8 engines. An off-road iconwas born.
