Aaron Prout, 34, a former Royal Marine living in Houston, Texas, was hanging out with his friend Sean O’Donnell, 37, a US military veteran, when they decided to play a “game” which involved taking turns to wear a military-grade Kevlar helmet, then shooting each other in the head with a rifle. However, all did not go to plan. O’Donnell’s shot penetrated the helmet and severely injured Prout, who was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
