PUMPKIN SPICE CREAMER Toast 4 halved cinnamon sticks and 10 whole cloves in a saucepan over low heat, 1 to 2 minutes. Add 2 cups milk, ½ cup sugar and ½ teaspoon nutmeg; simmer gently, stirring, until thickened, 20 minutes. Whisk in 1¼ cups canned pure pumpkin off the heat. Let cool, then strain. Krystal Michaels hillsboro, or Monroe has always pampered her pets in extravagant ways. She used to treat her old boxer, Mocha, to a pool party on his Gotcha Day, complete with a steak dinner. So when Krystal decided to switch careers after 30-plus years in supply-chain management, she went all in on dogs. She started selling doggie baked goods at a farmers’ market near her home in Hillsboro, OR, then she turned the business into a full-fledged bakery, Puppernickel, in 2019.
