We shared Rachel Harper's North Carolina residence in the 2019 article “Country Home, Take Me Home,” which provided a peek into the newer structure with an old soul decked for the Christmas season. Enameling has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. Its exact origin is uncertain, but it likely started as a craft technique for adorning jewelry and fine art objects, long before the mass-produced kitchenware and home goods that we associate with the process today. Enamelware is made by fusing powdered glass to a metal form by firing it at a high temperature, creating a smooth finish that looks like porcelain.
