According to the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), oats production in the 2024/25 season is expected to reach 22,34 million tons. This is 15% up on production in the previous season, which saw farmers produce 19,46 million tons, but marginally below the 10-year average of 23,14 million tons.
The EU, the world's biggest producer of oats, is expected to yield 7,63 million tons (up 27% season-on-season from 5,97 million tons), accounting for 34% of overall global production.
Canada and Russia, the world's secondand third-biggest producers, are expected to yield 3,36 million tons (15% of total global production) and three million tons (13% of total global production), respectively.
