WHAT TO PACK:
Camera, sunscreen, a hat, swimsuit, daily clothes, dinner-wear (dinner is a dressy affair!) and your passport. (They take it from you on the first day and do all the customs admin for you – just don’t forget to collect it again on the last day!)
When you hear the word ‘cruise’, what do you picture? An old couple island-hopping around the Med, sipping cocktails and playing bingo? You’re not too far off, but in South Africa, that picture looks a little different. That couple is a lot younger (the average cruise ship passenger is 41) and they probably have a few kids in tow. Then, swap out the Med for the Indian Ocean, add in some pool lounging and partying, and you’re dead on.
