The drought impacted different parts of South Africa in 2016 and continues to do so. Gauteng experienced a longterm drought, which was broken with flood rains. About a month or two ago, Nelson Mandela Bay declared a local disaster with regard to their dam levels. The Western Cape has actually been declared a disaster in terms of water levels.
