IT’S THE MOST excruciating dinner party this side of your average episode of Come Dine With Me. And that show, generally speaking, almost never ends with the food being laced with a truth drug, or a light stabbing.
It is, of course, the dinner party that kicks off Steven Soderbergh’s excellent, cold-as-ice spy thriller Black Bag. Michael Fassbender’s master interrogator, George, tasked with rooting out a traitor, invites the suspects (two couples, played by Regé Jean-Page and Naomie Harris, and Tom Burke and Marisa Abela; plus his own wife, played by Cate Blanchett) round to his lavish London gaff, serves them drugged grub, sits back, and watches the sparks fly.
