FEW THINGS ARE more thrilling in cinema than a brilliant ensemble cast all working at the top of their game. Which makes John Hillcoat’s cop thriller Triple 9 such an attractive prospect, with the likes of Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson and Anthony Mackie going toe-to-toe in a tense game of cops, robbers and cops-who-are-robbers.
Today, on the north side of Atlanta, Empire is watching one member of that cast, Anthony Mackie as corrupt cop Marcus, move warily through the shadows of a derelict building, weapon drawn and at the ready.
